What is a rainbow baby?
A “Rainbow baby” is a baby that has been born into a family following a loss experienced through miscarriage, still birth, premature birth or infant loss.
A Rainbow baby is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow follows a storm. When a rainbow appears it does not mean that the storm had never happened or that the family is not still grieving. What it means is that something beautiful and full of light and colour can appear amongst all of the darkness and clouds.
How does the shoot work?
Kamara Photography offers one free wrapped newborn mini shoot to one family per month, who have experienced a miscarriage or infant loss.
These shoots are offered on a first come, first served basis so it may not be possible to offer this shoot to everyone that applies.
You'll be asked to fill in the application form below and Kimberley from Kamara Photography will be in touch with you.

A free wrapped newborn mini shoot worth £275, consisting of:
1 - 2 Hour shoot in the studio
Use of all props and backdrops
Refreshments throughout the shoot
Personalised viewing appointment
3 Digital images via download

Frequently Asked Questions...
When is the best time to book a newborn shoot?
I only have the capacity to take one Rainbow Baby Shoot per month.
I recommend booking as soon as possible.
Do I need to bring anything with me to my shoot?
I have a large selection of props, wraps, headbands and colours for both little boys and little girls. There’s no need for you to bring anything with you but I’m more than happy to incorporate your own items into the images to make them more personal if you wish.
My baby has already been born, can I still book a shoot?
Yes! I sometimes have availability for last minute inquiries in which case I can absolutely book you in!
However, due to taking one booking per month my diary does fill up quickly and this isn't always possible.
How soon after my baby is born will the shoot take place?
Your newborn photo shoot will take place within 21 days of your baby being born in my photography studio which is located in Fishponds, Bristol.
Can sibling and parent photos be included?
Unfortunately the Rainbow Baby shoots are for the baby only, family members aren't included in this shoot.
What if my baby doesn't arrive on time?
Absolutely no problem at all.
When you book in I add your due date to my diary, I then ask you to contact me within 2-3 days of your baby being born so that we can book you in for a firm date and time.
